People know Colorado for its breathtaking mountain ranges. But, many people may not realize that it is also home to several beautiful beaches. Colorado may not have an oceanfront, but there are lakes that offer sandy shores and crystal-clear waters. That is perfect for swimming, boating, fishing, and other outdoor activities… Like getting married!

Popular Colorado Beaches:

  1. Lake Dillion Beach – Located in Summit County, this beach offers visitors stunning views of the mountains and crystal-clear water. The beach also has plenty of picnic areas and hiking trails!
  2. Cherry Creek State Park – Situated in Aurora, this state park boasts a beautiful reservoir with sandy Colorado beaches. The park also has campsites, picnic areas, and hiking and biking trails.
  3. Jackson Lake State Park – This park, is located in northeastern Colorado. It has a large lake with sandy beaches perfect for swimming and boating. The park also has camping areas, hiking trails, and a variety of wildlife viewing opportunities.
  4. Navajo State Park – Located in southwestern Colorado, this park is home to the Navajo Reservoir. The park also has hiking and biking trails, camping areas, and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.
  5. Grand Lake – Located in Rocky Mountain National Park, this lake offers visitors stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The nearby town of Grand Lake also has a charming downtown area with shops and restaurants.
  6. Chatfield State Park – Situated in Littleton, this park offers visitors a large reservoir with sandy beaches. The park also has campsites, picnic areas, and hiking and biking trails.

For those looking for a more secluded and natural beach experience, there are several mountain lakes in Colorado that offer beautiful scenery and water activities. One such example is Turquoise Lake, located near Leadville, Colorado. This alpine lake features a sandy beach area and is one of my favorites to visit!
